Challenge

The Oversight Board was established as an independent organisation responsible for reviewing content moderation decisions affecting billions of users globally. As a newly formed organisation, it required a complete technology function, operating model, and secure infrastructure capable of supporting a highly visible global mission.

My Role

As Chief Technology Officer, I was responsible for designing and building the entire technology capability from the ground up.

What I Delivered

• Developed the overall technology strategy and operating model.

• Built a secure, cloud-native environment independent from Meta.

• Implemented a Zero Trust security architecture.

• Established governance, support, security, and delivery processes.

• Built and led the technology team.

• Delivered a multilingual public engagement platform supporting participation from over 200 countries.

Outcome

The organisation successfully launched with a secure, scalable, and resilient technology foundation capable of supporting global operations. The technology platform enabled public participation at significant scale while maintaining independence, security, and trust.
